5 ways to optimize your website for government contracting

1.Capability Statement – Have a downloadable capability statement in PDF format. This makes it easy for prime contractors to print and/or take something away from your website. Your capability statement should summarize your business practices and capabilities all in on one  page. It should also have contact information.

2. Contact form – For busy professionals, who want to drop you a quick line without calling, a contact form is very important and very convenient. While e-mail works, understand that clients will not always send all the information you need upfront. With a contact form, you can receive specific details you need right away. It also gives you a way to filter inquiries, for example by type. This will make your life overall easier. 

3. Job board – Even if you don’t have a need for employees right away, you will eventually need a place to post jobs and receive effectively receive information from candidates. If you don’t currently have any contracts, you can post general jobs that you would generally need for your field. This is a way to build a database of clients to refer back to a later time.

4. Content – Website content is your opportunity to expand the capability statement. Give as much detail as possible on your business practices. Your website should be easy to read and optimized for a mobile view. Telling your story in a creative way is helpful but not entirely necessary.

5. Past Performance- Show case agencies that you’ve work for and post your testimonials from previous clients. This will quickly build credibility.
